ESTATE PLANNING
As well as ensuring that Wills and Powers of Attorney are in place, it is important to think about how everything links together, and how care fees and/or Inheritance Tax might affect your estate.
DEEDS OF VARIATION
A Deed of Variation can be a very useful document for altering the distribution of someone's estate after death. This is often done for tax reasons, particularly if a beneficiary wishes to pass on some of their inheritance.
TRUSTS
There are many different types of trust, and these can be incorporated into a Will, or set up during lifetime. Most trusts (with some exceptions) need to be registered on HMRC's trust registration service (TRS).

"The whole process from first making contact to executing the final Will was very fast, and everything was handled professionally, confidentially and with empathy given my current health situation. The knowledge and experience provided was invaluable, especially when it came to suggesting how to handle an inheritance for a disabled beneficiary. I needed to have my Will put in place for peace of mind before my treatment started, and that was delivered, so thank you so much. I was really pleased and happy with the service. "

“We really appreciated the promptness of your service and the speedy communication. We also liked talking to you in our own home rather than travelling to an office, and it was very helpful to be able to speak with you directly rather than leaving messages via a third party. You really couldn’t have done anything better, other than speeding up the Office of the Public Guardian!”
SW - Will and LPA clients, near Eye, Suffolk - 19/5/2026
"I liked the fact that you would visit me at home, as it felt so much more convenient. When someone dies there is so much to do, and you made life that much easier. I also appreciated being able to send documents to you online, rather than having to travel to an office. It was easier to arrange appointments than I experienced with the previous firm I used, and I liked that I was able to discuss everything with you, rather than with different staff members. I also appreciated the fact that you gave me an idea of the costs upfront, so I was aware from the beginning.
When it was time to do my own Will, this was done very efficiently. You talked me through the options, such as trusts, so I could make an informed choice.
I can’t think of anything you could have done better - you kept me informed of everything, guided me through it all, organised anything that needed to be done and generally took a weight off my shoulders when I really needed it. You offer a great service and I have already been recommending you to several people."

Your service was excellent and would not hesitate to recommend you. I don’t think there is anything you could improve.
